 Founder Kevin Ellis was born and bred in Yorkshire and a youngster he spent much of his time playing rugby in the local field with his elder brothers and as he matured his enthusiasm for rugby remained. In his teens he was tempted by the fifteen-a-side code and enjoyed several seasons with Headingley, before signing professional forms.
He continues his hands-on involvement in the sport today, coaching youngsters at his local club. His passion for the game, combined with his love of design and fashion are the driving force behind Ellis Rugby.

 Joseph Cheaney & Sons
Joseph Cheaney founded the company and moved to the present site in 1896. In 1903 Joseph's sons Arthur and Harold joined the company. In 1930 "Dick" Cheaney, grandson of the founder, joined the company.
In 1966 Cheaney won the Queen's Award to industry and was sold to Church and Company. In 2009 Jonathan and William Church bought the company.
Their family has been making fine shoes for five generations and they are fully committed to producing the finest footwear entirely made in England.
Dubarry
 Over 70 years ago a co-operative was formed to provide work in a small town called Ballinasloe, in the heart of Galway on Ireland’s glorious West Coast. Taking its name from a famous French courtesan, Madame du Barry, the company’s formative years were defined through the making of fine quality shoes during which time they were fortunate to be able to draw on a local population of hard-working craftsmen and women.
Dubarry’s reputation as one of Ireland’s most respected and successful companies was born out of the workforce’s deep-rooted pride and ambition to produce footwear of the very highest quality.

 Failsworth
The company was incorporated under the name ‘The New Failsworth Hat Manufacturing Company’ on 2nd December 1903. Originally it had been founded in 1875 when it acquired the ‘Maypole Hat Works’, and in 1881 it moved to the site where it was to develop for many years ahead at Claremont Street, Failsworth, Manchester. The name of the company was finally converted to Failsworth Hats Limited in 1940.
In the early 2000’s Failsworth celebrated it’s centenary year. Appreciating it’s history the company would take further strides into the future with developing it’s accessory and children’s range, and would compete massively within the modern retail environment with its fashion and lifestyle ranges. Heritage was as important as ever with brands like Barbour, Abraham Moon’s and Harris Tweed benefitting from the increasing sales.
With a new website that provides the viewer with more of an interactive feel in the ever growing digital age Failsworth have developed a perfect marriage of the traditional and modern.

The Gurteen range combines their tried and tested 'winners' with an injection of current trend.
A clean cut formality makes these elegant clothes a perfect indulgence for a variety of occasions. If asked for feedback, most of their customers would likely say that they are very commercial.
